ALG Connect Weather Alert: Blizzard Conditions Expected

Blizzard Conditions Expected as Historic Snowstorm Moves Into the Northern Plains

An impressive October snowstorm is expected to bring dangerous blizzard conditions to the northern Plains late this week after blanketing locations such as the Denver metro with their first snow of the season. Snow from this early season storm is now falling across portions of the Dakotas and northwestern Minnesota. Gusty winds and bands of moderate to heavy snowfall are expected in these areas.  A blizzard warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for parts of north-central North Dakota, where 40- to 60-mph winds will occur Friday into Saturday, resulting in whiteout conditions and large snow drifts.

On Friday, strong low pressure will wrap up near the Canadian border in northern Minnesota, with wind-driven snow in the Dakotas and parts of Minnesota. This combination of snow and wind could linger into Saturday or even Sunday from parts of the Dakotas into Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A widespread area from the Dakotas into northern Minnesota will see 1 to 5 inches of additional snowfall.

We recognize the severe impact that current conditions are having on our customers and we are committed to restoring service levels as quickly as possible. As a result of these weather issues, the ALG Client Service Team will send daily updates as we monitor the progress and track job level impact.
