ALG Connect: Winter Storm Spreading Snow, Strong Winds Across Great Lakes, Northeast

Winter Storm Spreading Snow, Strong Winds Across Great Lakes, Northeast

A winter storm is spreading snow, some ice and strong winds across the Great Lakes and Northeast as we head into the weekend. Earlier this week, Quest dumped feet of snow on California's Sierra Nevada and also snarled travel in northern Arizona.

Quest is producing mostly rain at this time, but that will change later in the day as rain changes to snow along the northern periphery of its track. Various winter weather alerts have been posted by the National Weather Service from the southern Great Lakes into the interior Northeast and New England, including Chicago, Detroit and Boston. These areas could see at least some travel impacts from Quest's snowfall.

Snow will spread across much of New England by Friday night. Precipitation in coastal areas of southern New England could eventually change to a wintry mix or rain, including in Boston. It appears much of the Northeast Interstate 95 corridor from New York City southward will see rainfall from this storm. Strong winds, possibly damaging in some areas, will accompany the storm in much of the Midwest, South and East, even in areas expecting rain and thunderstorms.

Saturday: Snow will spread across New England Saturday, while continuing in portions of the interior Northeast. Snow may linger in parts of New England and upstate New York Saturday night as the storm heads out to sea.

We recognize the severe impact that current conditions are having on our customers, and we are committed to restoring service levels as quickly as possible. As a result of these weather issues, the ALG Client Service Team will send daily updates as we monitor the progress and track job level impact.
