Winter Storm Heather Snaps 'Inch less' Snow Streaks in The Northeast

Winter Storm Heather is spreading snowfall across the Northeast today, where it has already snapped record-long streaks without an inch of snow in several cities.

700+ day "Inch less" snow streaks have been snapped in the Northeast: Baltimore (4.9") and Philadelphia (1.5") both ended record-long streaks without an inch of snow in a single day on Sunday. New York City's Central Park picked up a storm total of 1.4 inches, with an inch of that falling on Monday and therefore ending their record 701-day stretch without a daily snowfall of an inch or more. Washington, D.C., ended it's second-longest streak by picking up 4.1 inches.

Heather has prompted winter weather alerts in the East: Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service from parts of the South into New England. Driving conditions could be hazardous in some of these areas. Snow will continue to spread through the region today, tapering from south to north. The final bout of snow from this storm should finish in northern New England Tuesday night.

We recognize the severe impact that current conditions are having on our customers, and we are committed to restoring service levels as quickly as possible. As a result of these weather issues, the ALG Client Service Team will send daily updates as we monitor the progress and track job level impact.
