ALG Connect:Second System Bringing More Heavy Snow, Strong Winds

Second System Bringing More Heavy Snow, Strong Winds

The Storm that buried the Great Lakes over the weekend in feet of snow is finally waning. Another system is looming behind it to bring more snow to the Northeast and Great Lakes.

The first lake effect snow event is winding down, but the next winter system is pushing in and is going to be very snowy as well as windy. This winter system is going to push through the Great Lakes and then into the northeast and New England. The second storm should be peaking Wednesday evening into Thursday and is going to bring some heavy snowfall as well as incredibly gusty winds, which could see winds at 30 to 50 miles per hour as the system pushes through. This storm is going to make travel treacherous across the Great Lakes and interior portions of the northeast and New England and we could see an additional 5 to 8 inches of snow on top of areas that have already seen feet of snow and then across New England and additional 5 inches of snow as well if this is going to make for big headaches across portions of the Great Lakes.
