Mail Growth Incentive - Important Dates Upcoming
Attention Mail Owners and Mail Service Providers
The Postal Service would like to remind everyone of important Mail Growth Incentive dates:
- Final Notice: Participants in the Mail Growth Incentive (MGI) program are reminded that any unused MGI 2024 postage credits will expire December 31, 2025. After this date, any remaining postage credits will be forfeited and cannot be reinstated.
- The final MGI 2025 postage credit claim period will begin on January 15, 2026, and end on February 28, 2026. In preparation for the final credit claim period, it is suggested that mail owners review their service requests at the end of the year. Any questions about your service request will be addressed during this claim period. Supporting documentation will be required to resolve any potential discrepancies. Both the mail owner and the Postal Service will need to come to consensus before postage credits can be distributed.
- Registration for MGI 2026 will open on March 1, 2026. To simplify the 2026 registration process, all MGI 2025 registrations will automatically have MGI 2026 registration service requests created. The mail owner will need to agree to their baseline and CRIDs (or dispute them and start a discussion) before the program office can approve MGI 2026 registrations.
- Mail Owners who are new to MGI will need to create new registration service requests and ensure all data is correct. The entire registration process is available to review on PostalPro at Mail Incentives | PostalPro.
- No new registrations will be accepted after the close of the registration period on May 31, 2026. To ensure as many registrations as possible can be completed, the Postal Service will continue discussions with pending registrants until June 30, 2026 at which time all registrations must be agreed to by both the mail owner and the Postal Service or they will be closed.
- NOTE: Baselines for MGI 2026 will be Calendar Year 2025 qualifying mail volume for the registered CRIDs.
Plan ahead for both the start of the MGI 2025 postage credit claim period and the MGI 2026 registration period.
